Can you say CIRCUS!

Awhile back my Parents asked if they could take Jace and Jene to the circus. They took Jurnee and Janson by themselves when they were young, and wanted Jace and Jene to be able to have a turn. They took me, as well, cause taking two young kids at their age is not exactly easy.

We went Saturday morning. The show was at 11! The kids did not have any idea until we got there. Jene has never been and Jace has only been when he was about 1! They were so excited. Of course, Grandma and Grandpa spoiled them with lots of treats (popcorn, m&ms, sprite, lollipops, snow cones, cotton candy & toys).

Jace was not sure what to expect. He is a little sensitive and got a little nervous in the big crowd, and when the announcer came on and said there would be 'periods when all the lights would be out'. Jace started to cry because he thought it was going to be pitch black. What the announcer failed to mention was that there would be at least one spotlight on in the arena. Anyhow, he was fine, and loved the circus. He thought the clowns were really funny, and he thinks he wants to be a clown for Halloween now! He thought it was pretty cool. He loved the motorcycle cage! They put 7 motorcycles in this cage at one time! It was amazing!

Jene loved all the treats, did a lot of musical chairs/laps, and loved all the parts of the circus that had to deal with ponies/horses/ or ELEPHANTS! She loved loved loved the elephants and horses. She would sit up and clap her hands and get so excited to see them come in. She would even clap and say, "Yay" everytime they would do something or finish their act. IT was super cute. Now, if only they kept an elephant or horse on the floor the whole time, she would have WATCHED the whole thing. She wasn't to into the funny acts, cool stunt performers, trapeze artists, dancers, etc... what she was into was going PEE at least 5 times during the circus! That was a lot of fun.. let me tell you....

We walked over to the triad center afterwards because Jene and Jace wanted to see the water fountains. At least this helped us miss all the traffic, or most of it anyways. We ended the fun afternoon at Olive Garden for lunch. It was a nice lunch and a great way to counteract all the SWEETS we ate.

The kids are still talking about it and carrying around their lighted toys. They have had to have all their juice out of their clown cups! And they keep looking at the book saying, "he was funny", "I saw that", "that was cool", "Elephants". Great memories for them, and what better memories than with Grandma and Grandpa!

Thanks Mom & Dad for the Great Day and Afternoon! The kids and I had a lot of fun..and really appreciate it a lot!!

So You Think You Can Dance!

Many of you may remember my birthday post back in August. Jason gave me tickets to the 'So You Think You Can Dance' Tour #4 with the Top 12 Dancers! They were here in Salt Lake City last Tuesday Sept. 22nd at the E-Center. Jason and I had date night and went to Chilis beforehand, then walked over to the E-Center. It was SOOOOOOO good, and SOOOOOO much fun. The dancers were amazing, and even more amazing to watch in person! I love dance a lot! I still think about pickin up an adult dance class, I just can't seem to think of when I would fit that in my already busy schedule!
We tried to get some good pictures, but we don't have an extremely high tech camera that takes great motion pictures... and I am pretty sure we don't know how to work it all that well... (the functions, anyways..)

Thanks Jurnee, for watching the kids for us! We really appreciate your help with them.. and doing that for your momma and dad!
Enjoy our slide show!

Look who's a BIG GIRL now!

Jene! (new spelling for "Jenny"..Julie is doing preschool with them during the day and this is an easy way for her to learn her name!)

When we went to Lake Powell for a week my Mom and Dad kept Jene! She loves staying with Grandma and Grandpa Beach. Partly because she has them both wrapped tight around her little fingers! Anyhow, My mom kept telling me if you bring her 'potty training' stuff we will work on potty training. I told my mom that she didn't have to do that, it would be to much for her, however, she insisted. While at Lake Powell, I talked to her about the 3rd day into the training and she was at whits end. Jene had pee'd and pooped on her rug in her entry and the den. I told her to put her back in diapers and not to worry about it. My mom said she would try one more day and see how it went. I talked to my mom the day before we were coming home and she said, "you know, she hasn't had an accident since the day she pee'd and pooped on the rug. maybe what I told her worked! I told her that when Abby (their dog) does that she has to go get in her bed! " Well much to my parents surprise, Jene was trained! She would even wake my mom up in the night to tell her she needed to go potty. My mom said, "She will tell you every time she has to go!"

Now, Jason and I didn't really believe it. So we got home friday night and sure enough, She told us every single time she has to go! EVERY TIME! There has only been TWO accidents! One a week ago when she was throwing a huge tantrum in her room on the floor! (This tantrum stage is horrible), and One yesterday at daycare. Julie wasn't sure if it was even Pee or water! She was playing outside!

SO... yay for us and yay for our BIG GIRL! The Wallins are officially done with DIAPERS! This helps our budget with the diaper and wipe bill and we save a tiny bit on daycare!

Way to go JENE!

One Downfall of Jene staying at Grandma & Grandpas house: SHE SLEPT WITH GRANDMA EVERY NIGHT AND WON'T GO TO BED IN HER OWN BED NOW! 50% OF THE NIGHTS SHE ENDS UP SLEEPING WITH US!

Lake Powell Group!

This was all of us! We had such a good time!

Lake Powell Friend

Our last night we moved the houseboat closer to the marina! We were all hiking around and Mark about stepped on the 'little friend'....

Yikes!

Matt came to the rescue, (growin up in arizona, he was snake professional) and killed it..

YES PEOPLE, A RATTLE SNAKE... VERY CLOSE TO THE HOUSEBOAT!
CLOSE CALL! Thank goodness Mark or anyone else didn't step on this yucky thing! I still get butterflies thinking I walked with Jace and Jurnee within 5 yards of where he was!

Lake Powell, Take 3

more fun pics to share!

Lake Powell, Take 2!

Jurnee turned 12 in Lake Powell! We tried to do something fun for her.. but we had limited resources. My mom was sweet enough to bake cupcakes for her before we left, then we snuck them down and froze them. On her birthday we took them out, frosted and decorated them.. blew up some water balloons and did our best to decorate the house boat!
Meanwhile, everyone left so we could do this, and took the kids hiking up to the indian ruins..

Jurnee was so surprised! Happy Birthday Jurnee!

Lovin' Lake Powell

We were fortunate to be able to spend a week in Lake Powell on a house boat with some good friends. We left the friday before Labor day and came home 7 days later! We had a blast! So much time spent in the sun, relaxing, boating, playing cards, games and just enjoying each others company!
The kids had a great time! They were in the water so much, that they were getting sores from their life Jackets! They fished a lot (especially Janson), and played games, boated and ate! We ate so much! I felt like that is all we did! It was crazy!
