River 'Tubin'

A couple sundays ago we decided to go tubing down provo river. Everytime we drive by it looks so much fun.. So we packed up and went to drop Jenny off with my parents and were headed to make it happen. On the way to my parents Jace decided he did not want to go ... so we said 'are you sure? you'll be missin' out?" He was sure! Jason, Jurnee, Janson and I, along with our friends Mark & Mari, headed to tube down the river. What an adventure.. It is about 4 1/2 miles long.... really relaxing (well it could be) with the RIGHT kind of tubes, and no kids.. it is not rapid.. a few parts are a little, but otherwise, just really CHILL! When taking kids, you are worried to let them go by themselves. The current tends to pull you into the sides and you can get stuck in the bushes, rocks, etc. To make a long story short... Rent tubes, have an oar, and don't take kids under 14... which is what they recommend... (we know why now!) The water is freezing and poor Janson fell in quite a few times... It is very shallow most of the river, and there is lots of rocks. We had a bright idea to just go buy tubes and use a sledding tube we had... well... the sledding tube was way to small... Jason spent more time in the water and balancing then he did enjoying the ride! And it was overcast and some sprinkles... uggh! Janson didn't have very much fun.. Jurnee liked it though! Thanks Mark and Mari for taking care of Jurn down the river.. It was all Jason and I could do to keep Janson on his tube, and keep track of it...

Note to self: rent tubes, no kids...
Lesson Learned..

So ... the following week, we did an adult tubin' down the river. Mark, Mari, Jason and I went! Jurnee stayed home and watched her sister and brothers for us.. what a sweet girl! We rented tubes, got some oars, and really had a relaxing day! Not to mention, the sun was out and it was warm and relaxing! Despite the fact that Jason left the keys to the explorer in Marks truck at the top of river, everything was awesome! Highly recommend this as a fun adult activity...

The only crappy thing is, I forgot the camera both trips to get before and afters... well... the first trip I took an underwater camera and we haven't got them developed yet. We will post them when we get them...
